About the founder
Miranda “Alaska” combines her passion for culture with her love of design to elevate a new level of social impact in the world. Having spent quality time in over 25 countries, she understands communication design through the eyes of many audiences and a language-less experience. After seeing firsthand how design impacts culture, she discovered her souls purpose to use her communication design skills for social change. The mobile design studio specializes in building meaningful brands for mission driven clients and expanding them into successful stories across print and web.
With several years under her belt and a BFA in Communication Design from the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design, she brings a unique perspective with a global mindset and passion for typography (hand lettering, calligraphy, paragraph design…ect.) Her innate attention to detail and love for working hands-on in the three-dimensional world are some of her greatest assets.
When not working, you’ll usually find her trying something new (like stand up comedy), rock climbing, traveling, playing with her Australian Shepherd, writing, or eating pizza in obscure places.
Why “SOJOURN”?
"Sojourn" means a temporary stay. Through extended travel, we’ve learned that the basis of all that we do is communicate. When we remove language barriers, all we have left to speak through is design. Our studio was named because of this unique perspective.
